HELP · WORDPRESS FORMS
WordPress contact form not showing on the page
If a contact page loads but the form is missing, uptime monitors won’t notice — the page still returns 200 OK. Visitors see a page with no way to reach you, and nobody gets an error.
Common causes
- The form plugin was deactivated or updated — the shortcode or block is still on the page, but nothing renders.
- The shortcode or form block was removed while editing the page, often by someone fixing something else.
- A page builder or theme template change replaced the section that held the form.
- Caching or minification broke the script the form needs to render. Try purging the cache and excluding the form plugin’s scripts.
- A security or bot-protection layer is blocking the form from rendering, or blocking the page for some visitors.
Quick check: is the form actually on the page?
Paste the contact page URL into our free checker. It loads the page once, read-only, like a visitor, and looks for the form. No email needed.
Supported: WPForms, Gravity Forms and Elementor Forms. Contact Form 7 is in beta.
The check never submits your form and does not test whether emails are sent or received. If the form is on the page but messages don’t arrive, that’s a separate problem — check your SMTP / mail delivery setup.
Keep an eye on client sites
A one-time check tells you about one moment. FormHeartbeat can re-check your client contact pages on a schedule (we don’t guarantee a fixed frequency) and email you when the form is missing on two checks in a row. Free 14-day pilot, then $19/month.
